Gap and readiness

Certification audit readiness

A readiness assessment shows where the system stands before the certification body begins its formal audit. Its purpose is to clarify gaps and available evidence, not to predict or guarantee the certifier’s decision.

What we examine

Readiness connects criteria, implementation and evidence.

01

Applicable requirements

We base the assessment on the standard version and scope confirmed by the business.

02

Implementation

We check whether documented processes and responsibilities are visible in current operations.

03

Evidence

We review relevant records and examples without requesting the entire document system by default.

04

Gaps and priorities

We organise identified points so the team can decide what to address before the audit.

Approach

A serious rehearsal without certification promises.

  1. 01 · Set the target

We confirm the standard, scope, sites and formal audit timing.

  2. 02 · Run the gap assessment

We compare observed practice and evidence with the included criteria.

  3. 03 · Prioritise

We explain gaps, dependencies and the points requiring a business decision.

Outcome

A realistic view before the formal audit.

  • criteria-based matrix or report
  • observed gaps and evidence
  • preparation priorities
  • alignment discussion with process owners

Sam Consulting is not a certification body and does not issue accredited certification. A readiness assessment cannot guarantee the formal audit result.

FAQ

Certification readiness questions

Which standards can be assessed?

Scope may consider requirements such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000 after the relevant version, scope and required competence are confirmed.

Is this the same as a certifier’s pre-audit?

No. This is an independent consultancy service; the certification body chosen by the business controls its own formal process.

How long before the audit should it happen?

That depends on complexity and the time available for action. Timing is agreed after discussing the planned audit and current system maturity.
